Our Approach to Juvenile Justice Reform

At Motivated and Empowered Inc., we recognize that behavioral issues among youth involved in the juvenile court system often stem from systemic challenges such as poverty, family instability, and lack of access to basic necessities like food, housing, and clothing. Many of these young individuals come from single-parent households or are not living with their birth families. Others find themselves involved in certain activities for protection or survival.

Our approach is holistic and restorative, focusing on mentorship, accountability, and intervention to break the cycle of juvenile delinquency. By addressing root causes, we provide at-risk youth with resources, guidance, and opportunities that empower them to choose a better path. Our goal is to reduce violence and gang involvement, foster personal growth and responsibility, and create a support network that encourages long-term success.

Our Framework for Change

  1. Early Intervention & Prevention – Identifying at-risk youth and providing mentorship, case management, and access to essential resources before they reoffend.

  2. Basic Needs & Stability – Ensuring youth have food, housing, clothing, and other critical necessities to remove survival-based decision-making.

  3. Mentorship & Guidance – Pairing youth with positive role models who encourage accountability, goal-setting, and self-discipline.

  4. Education & Skill Development – Offering life skills training, educational support, and workforce development to create new opportunities for success.

  5. Violence & Gang Reduction – Implementing programs that provide alternatives to street violence, focusing on conflict resolution, self-empowerment, and community engagement.

  6. Ongoing Support & Advocacy – Providing long-term support through follow-up services, family engagement, and community partnerships to ensure lasting transformation.​

Restoring Hope, Rebuilding Futures

At Motivated and Empowered Inc., we serve as the core connection between youth, their communities, schools, mental health services, homes, and workforce opportunities. Through The Advocate Model, we provide Prevention, Intervention, and Reentry services designed to redirect, empower, and support young girls involved in or at risk of entering the juvenile justice system.

 

Pathway to Prevention

 Proactive Support Before Youth Enter the Justice System

This service is designed to identify and support at-risk youth before they come into contact with the juvenile justice system. Through school partnerships, community outreach, and mentorship, we provide access to:

  • Early intervention case management to address warning signs of delinquency

  • School and community engagement programs that connect youth to positive activities

  • Family and caregiver support services to strengthen home environments

  • Workshops on conflict resolution, decision-making, and self-empowerment

 

By providing positive alternatives and resources, we prevent at-risk youth from falling into destructive cycles.

 

Bridges to Change (Intervention)

 Supporting Youth Currently Involved in the Juvenile Justice System

For young girls already engaged in the juvenile system, we offer structured intervention programs to redirect their paths and create sustainable change. This includes:

  • Individualized mentorship & advocacy with trained advocates who provide one-on-one guidance

  • Court-involved case management to help youth and families navigate probation, diversion, and support services

  • Behavioral and mental health support coordination to ensure proper access to therapy, counseling, and rehabilitation programs

  • Restorative justice circles & life skills training to develop emotional regulation, accountability, and long-term personal growth

 Second Chance Reentry

 Rebuilding Lives After Juvenile Justice System Involvement

Successful reentry requires support, stability, and opportunity. This program ensures that youth transition back into their communities, education, and workforce successfully, with a focus on:

  • Education & school reintegration – reconnecting youth with their academic pathways, whether traditional school or alternative education

  • Workforce development & job readiness – linking youth with job training, internships, and employment opportunities

  • Stable housing & essential needs assistance – ensuring youth have a secure home and access to resources that support long-term success

  • Peer mentorship & continued case management – pairing youth with mentors who provide consistent guidance and encouragement

By providing wraparound reentry services, we ensure that young girls do not return to the system but instead build a future of stability, independence, and empowerment.
